Moroccan Tea

Recipe in Arabic: شاي بالنعناع

Moroccan mint tea is one of the most popular drinks in Morocco. It is consumed more than coffee or even water. This beverage is also called: Moroccan Chai, or Atay. The recipe is very easy to make and should not take a long time to prepare. Simply follow these steps:

Ingedients

  • ½ bouquet of spearmint
  • 1 tablespoon of green tea
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 liter of water

Preparation

  1. In a pitcher, put the green tea, sugar, and the spearmint
  2. Add boiling water to the pitcher
  3. Place the pitcher on a low heat until it starts boiling again (be careful, it may overflow)
  4. Put the pitcher on a tray, pour tea into a cup, then pour the cup back to the pitcher. That will ensure that the tea is mixed well. Serve in small cups. Enjoy!

You can slightly change the above ingredients and preparation for Moroccan Tea to match your needs and taste.
