Recipe in Arabic: عدس

Moroccan lentils is a very delicious and healthy dish rich in vitamins and proteins. It is also very simple to make. This recipe is also called: 3adass or ‘dess. The recipe is very easy to make and should not take a long time to prepare. Simply follow these steps:


Ingedients

  • ½ kg of lentils (presoaked)
  • 2 onions (medium size)
  • 1 cup of olive oil
  • 1 liter of water
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon of tomato paste
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of ginger
  • 1 teaspoon of red pepper

Preparation

  1. It is recommended to use a pressure cooker for lentils but a cooking pot is also ok
  2. Put oil, and diced onions into a cooking pot
  3. Add all the spices and stir on medium heat for 3 minutes
  4. Add lentils and water and leave until cooked
