Harcha (Semolina Bread)

Recipe in Arabic: الحرشة

Harcha is a famous Moroccan type of bread. It has the consistency of cornbread. Usually it is served in the morning with tea or milk. You can spread some butter and honey or cheese. Delicious!!! This dish is also called: Semolina bread, 7archa. The recipe is very easy to make and should not take a long time to prepare. Simply follow these steps:


Ingedients

  • 500 grams of medium semolina
  • 200 grams of butter
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 1 packet of yeast
  • ½ teaspoon of salt

Preparation

  1. Add semolina and butter into a bowl and mix them together
  2. Add salt, sugar and yeast
  3. Add milk and mix for 15 seconds only
  4. Form a ball with the dough
  5. Flatten the balls to look similar to the image above
  6. Sprinkle some semolina on the surface of the dough
  7. Put the flat dough into a preheated pan
  8. After 5 minutes flip to let the other side cook
  9. Place on a plate and enjoy
