Fekkas (Moroccan Biscotti)

Recipe in Arabic: فقاص

Fekkas (Moroccan Biscotti) is one of the most delicious pastries, because it doesn't contain a lot of sugar, but still has a good taste and nice flavor. This recipe will contain some raisins and peanuts. This recipe is also called: Moroccan biscotti, fakkas, or feqqas. The recipe is very easy to make and should not take a long time to prepare. Simply follow these steps:


Ingedients

  • ½ kg of flour
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup of roasted peanuts
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup and ½ of sugar
  • ½ cup of oil
  • 1 tablespoon of anise

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, add flour and the rest of the ingredient and mix until you get a tender dough (add water when necessary to get the right consistency)
  2. Form a dough the shape of a French bread, rub it with egg yolk, place it on a tray
  3. Put it in the oven until golden then take it out, and cover it with a wet towel
  4. Leave it overnight, then slice it (medium thickness)
  5. Put the sliced cookies back in the oven until it's cooked from both sides
  6. Server with hot tea!
